Free Software

Free downloads available for Windows® and Mac® computers with a free app available for iOS devices or Android® tablets, this software allows students to measure intensity, absorbance, transmittance and fluorescence.

How It Works

Absorbance and Transmittance: Light from the LED-boosted tungsten light source passes through the solution and a high-quality diffraction grating. The CCD array detects the light for collection and analysis.

The optional Fiber Optic Cable allows you to perform emissions spectroscopy experiments with the PASCO spectrometer. Simply insert the Fiber Optic Cable into the cuvette holder and point the end of the cable at the light source.

Important Note: Solutions used within this spectrometer should be compatible with polystyrene (cuvette material) and ABS (spectrometer housing material). In particular, strong organic solvents such as acetone will damage the cuvettes.
