{"id":2482,"date":"2018-03-19T15:42:39","date_gmt":"2018-03-19T13:42:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ste.education\/shop\/uncategorized\/polarization-experiment\/"},"modified":"2023-01-25T14:59:30","modified_gmt":"2023-01-25T12:59:30","slug":"polarization-experiment","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/ste.education\/en\/product\/polarization-experiment\/","title":{"rendered":"Polarization Experiment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In this experiment, Malus\u2019 Law of Polarization is verified by showing that the intensity of light passed through two polarizers depends on the square of the cosine of the angle between the two polarization axes.<\/p>\n<p>Laser light (peak wavelength = 650 nm) is passed through two polarizers. As the second polarizer (the analyzer) is rotated by hand, the relative light intensity is recorded as a function of the angle between the axes of polarization of the two polarizers. The angle is obtained using a Rotary Motion Sensor coupled to the polarizer with a drive belt.
